Emergency Surgery Service Director

Dr. Younes Urwa is a senior physician in Surgery Department B at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. He completed his medical studies in Turin, Italy, in 2006, and did his internship and general surgery residency at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. He has served as a senior physician in the department ever since.

He completed a fellowship in trauma and emergency medicine at Rambam Medical Center. Since 2023, he has served as Director of the Emergency Surgery Service at our institution. In this role, Dr. Urwa performs a broad range of procedures - both elective and emergency - including trauma surgery, via both open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) approaches.

Dr. Urwa is an active participant in teaching in the department on behalf of the Technion Faculty of Medicine.
