At the ceremony, prizes were awarded to the outstanding lecturers of the Technion's Faculty of Medicine, recognizing their excellence in teaching over the past year. The certificates of appreciation along with a gift from the hospital and a gift from the faculty were given by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ami Aronheim, and Vice Dean Prof. Amir Karban, together with the Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, and Chairperson of the Technion Medical Students Committee, Ms. Shai Teplitzky.
This year's outstanding physicians come from the following departments: Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT), Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases, Surgery, Neurology, Gynecology & Obstetrics, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, General ICU, Risk Management and the management of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Additionaly, a prize was awarded to the department recognized for its excellence in teaching, namely the Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Department, headed by Prof. Itzhak Braverman, who himself was recognized as an outstanding lecturer.

In his opening comments, Prof. Aronheim noted the complexities and challenges facing the lecturers as well as the students and reviewed the changes and developments in the study of medicine over the past year. He praised the medical center for providing a large number of outstanding lecturers each year, something that is not a given.
Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, added that excellence and leadership in research and academics is very important and the hospital is positioned strongly alongside the other hospitals affiliated with the Technion.
The Chairperson of the Technion Medical Students Committee, Ms. Shai Teplitzky also spoke, saying that her personal experience in her studies at Hillel was excellent and she highly praised the lecturers and hospital staff.
