The Research Unit was reopened in its current format in 2017 and is the organizational and administrative address for all of the clinical studies conducted at the hospital.
The unit promotes collaboration with pharmaceutical companies and start-ups with advanced medical equipment. Additionally, the unit initiates and advances studies in basic sciences.
The unit is made up of a staff of study nurses, study coordinators and a secretary.
The unit staff is responsible for submitting the studies to the institutional Helsinki Committee.
Additional responsibilities:

Closely monitoring the phases of the study - from beginning to end.

Contractual guidance, budgetary guidance, meetings of researchers.

Enrollment and communication with patients for the various studies, while paying strict attention to GCP - Good Clinical Practice.
