About

The Cardiology Inpatient Department admits patients presenting with myocardial infarction (heart attack) or other urgent cardiac conditions requiring close monitoring, such as arrhythmias and conduction disorders, heart failure, myocarditis and unstable angina. The department also treats patients who have undergone cardiac procedures, including coronary catheterization, cardiac electrophysiology studies or pacemaker implantation.

The department is equipped with the most advanced technology available for monitoring and treating acute cardiac emergencies, staffed by an experienced and highly skilled team.

The goals of care during the stay in the department are to allow patients to recover under close monitoring following a cardiac event or acute exacerbation of heart disease, to help them understand their condition and treatment, and ultimately to support their return to everyday life after navigating the acute phase of their illness. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on identifying and treating each patient's individual risk factors, in order to reduce the likelihood of future complications.

Sometimes, depending on the individual patient's needs, patients are transferred to the general internal medicine departments for continued care and recovery.
